DESCRIPTION

Personal Development is the process of improving oneself; the conscious pursuit of personal growth by expanding self-awareness and knowledge and improving personal skills. It is about investing in yourself so that you can manage yourself effectively regardless of what life may bring your way.

The ultimate goal of Personal Development is for one to be a self-realised human being. That means living consciously at full potential and reaching real happiness in life. It emphasises that rather than wait for good things to happen, you get out there and make them happen.

Personal Development is much about making the unconscious conscious; an evolutionary process toward personal excellence or a state of being outstanding. It is the opposite of settling for mediocrity.

Personal Development at Thokoza Progressive Youth is viewed as a readiness programme, preparing the individual participant for self-development.
